HEB ISD Edge Site: Q & A

We have received many positive responses and inquiries about the videos that appear
in new Edge site. Many of you wrote to say how helpful the videos have been in your
decision making process. We are very thankful for your positive feedback. A few wanted
to know a little more about the process behind the making of and our decision to include
the video interviews. This Q & A is designed to provide some background about the
making of the Edge videos, which are such an integral part of this site.

Most of the videos appear to be taped in a professional studio and are professionally edited. Why were slip-ups left in the footage?

All of the videos were intentionally shot in an unrehearsed format. We felt it was of the utmost importance to receive a “true and real” response from the subjects. We also felt it to be more interesting to leave in some of the unexpected takes.

While the length of each subject’s footage was condensed to present a brief Web-friendly and artistically interesting piece, all of the interviews were shot in one take and most took less than 20 minutes to tape. Sample questions were supplied ahead of time, but were not followed verbatim during the interviews, in order to “keep things real.”

Please, consider the spontaneity behind the production of these video pieces while enjoying them. You are not watching paid actors! You will not hear polished, rehearsed scripts or coached testimonials.

What you will hear and see, are the real and true responses and personal experiences from HEB citizens.
