The HEB ISD Edge: Preparing Students for the Highly Competitive Global Economy of Today and Tomorrow

Today, it is not enough to attend school in order to compete against peers in the same region, state, or even other states. Today’s high school graduates will compete with students from other countries to gain entry into top colleges and universities. Once in college, they must prepare for a lifetime of competition in a global marketplace.

Preparation for that kind of competition begins in the earliest grades. HEB ISD's highly qualified staff, combined with academic programs not available anywhere in the region, give students that advantage, the “edge,” they need to live and work on a global stage.

Giving students the “edge” is not new in our district. In 1958, three cities consolidated their school districts to form the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. This was the first of many forward-thinking, visionary actions taken in order to provide a unique education found only in HEB ISD.
