HEB ISD Earns ''Recognized'' Rating from TEA

HEB ISD received official 2008 district and campus ratings from the Texas Education Agency. The district has been rated "Recognized," based on 2008 TAKS scores. "We are extremely pleased with our ratings," Dr. Gene Buinger, superintendent of schools, said. "They are a reflection of the collaboration of our teachers, campus administrators, and central office curriculum coordinators. We have had an instructional improvement plan for the last five years that has a very specific curriculum, and everyone at the campus and central office levels has worked hard to execute the plan. We are especially proud that our two 5A comprehensive high schools, which represent all student groups that count toward accountability ratings, earned a "Recognized" rating."
